Avianca is an award currency that offers great purchase bonuses throughout the year. This isn’t exactly a straight up purchase bonus, but a TRANSFER bonus – so you’d need miles in your account to participate, but could provide value to those who are looking to consolidate for a specific award redemption. What they’re offering is a 100% bonus when you transfer miles in increments of 1000 to another account. You’ll pay $15 + taxes for each 1000 you transfer, which will net 2000 points to the transferred account. If you’re unfamiliar with Avianca I’d suggest reading this post where I lay out redeeming them for Lufthansa First Class – keep in mind that they don’t always have the same access as other Star Alliance partners.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.
