Aerolopa makes it easy to choose the best seat on your next flight

If you’ve flown very much you know very well that not all seats are created equal. So how do you choose what the best seat seat is on your next flight? Well… it used to be that SeatGuru was the king of seats, but as Gary Leff pointed out – (big hattip to him and Mainly Miles,) Aerolopa is the new king of seatmaps. Their website is super easy to use, has tons of information, is super clean, stylish, and easily beats SeatGuru. Let’s take a look at Aerolopa and an example of an American Airlines 772. Images are courtesy of Aerolopa

Aerolopa has information on a lot of different airlines

Each airlines is broken down by seat type. Note that these are just a few airlines, they have a long list not shown below.

a white sheet with black textLet’s look at American Airlines 772

It clearly shows you the number of seats in each configuration:

  • 37 business class
  • 24 premium economy
  • 212 economy

screens screenshot of a planeThe AA 772 has two different kinds of business class seat…in reality they look like this where one configuration has seats that face backwards and are inferior ( the pic with me and my buddy Dave ) and then the best iteration with super diamonds with all seats facing forward

The Aerolopa American Airlines 777-200 Seat Map

  • Everything is to scale
  • You can see which seats are Main Cabin Extra
  • Seat with basinet capabilities
  • Window placement
  • Where the bathrooms are
  • The list goes on

Aerolopa additional information

This is probably my favorite aspect – it tells you who manufactures the seats, the wifi its equipped with, screen size, etc.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Supporting Cast:

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® is exceptional starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.

They need an app to really overtake SeatGuru.
