Turkish has brought back their periodic award sale – this time with up to 40% off Econ flights as long as you book by 10/02/24 and fly between 11/1/24 and 3/31/25.  The past few years this was an insane deal because the Turkish award chart was much, much better and this sale meant you could fly Turkish business class, which is quite good, from the US to Europe for just 32k miles.  Not only is that deal gone, but this promotion is only economy. You’ll find Econ between US and Europe is 24k with this deal.

If you’re looking to fly to Turkey, maybe see Cappadocia, or lay on the beaches of Bodrum, this could be a good deal, but it’s not nearly as exciting as it used to be.

Ticketing Dates 9/26/24 to 10/2/24
Flight Dates 11/1/24 to 3/31/2025

You can read my review of Turkish Business Class on the 787-9 here!

Is this the best we’ve seen?

  • 20% refund in early 24 including business class
  • 30% discount in 2022 and 2023 including business class

How much do Turkish award flights cost?

Turkish changed their award chart and it’s not bifurcated between flights on Turkish and partners. This deal only relates to those on Turkish planes and will abide by the following chart – and if you’re going to Istanbul only, it’s not a bad deal, but to Europe is pricey.

  • US to Turkey would be 24k each way in Economy with this deal

How to find Turkish Award space?

While you need to book on the Turkish website, the easiest way to find award space is actually on United using their old search function in calendar mode.

  • Make sure the little button is ticked in the bottom “nonstop”
  • The ones pricing in at 88k United miles are

Where does Turkish fly?

You’ll want to begin your search form one of their North American hubs. You can go here to Flightconnections.com to play around with what planes service each route. Keep an eye out for the 787s and A350s – those have the best business class.

How to earn Turkish Miles?

You may have them and not even know it. Turkish is a transfer partner of the following programs:

  • Bilt Rewards
  • Citi Thank You
  • Capital One Miles

Bilt Rewards

If you’re a renter and not using the Bilt Rewards Mastercard you’re truly missing out. It’s the only card on the market that facilitates fee free rent payment, no annual fee, 3x on dining, 2x travel, and a great list of transfer partners. I’m a senior advisor and investor in the company and they have even more exciting things in stow for next year.

Citi Thank You

I signed up for the Citi Thank You Premier earlier this year and earned 80k Thank You points. The Citi Thank You Premier is easily the most underrated card on the market, and is still offering its highest ever offer.

Citi Thank You Premier is offering 80k Thank You points after $4k spend in 3 months

    • You also earn 3x on
      • Air Travel
      • Hotel
      • Supermarkets
      • Dining
      • and Gas

Capital One Miles

Capital One Miles are quite valuable as well, and the Capital One Venture X Is my top pick for most valuable super premium card on the market. The Venture Rewards is also a great card that earns 2x as well.

Overall

If you are already sitting on a cache of Bilt, Citi, or Capital One Miles… this could be an interesting option for you.

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

    Bilt: https://bilt.page/r/J6PE-SV8U

Bilt has become one of my favorite cards to use for the rather large transfer bonuses even with the lowest status level. The Bilt card has no annual fee, is useful for earning miles on rent if you have rent, and offers some nice restaurant bonuses. I also like this card for the transfer bonuses that pop up here and there. I’ve been able to get 100% transfer bonuses on a few occasions after having the card for less than a year. Where else can you get that level of transfer bonus, and especially without an annual fee?

I looked up July to August and all I see is 45000 for 1 and 105000 for two

Or What am I doing wrong ?
    Thank uou

  • Mike Saint December 30, 2021

    Miles,

What months are you looking at? I see the promo discounts for economy but I don’t see ANY discounts for Business class. I only see 105,000 miles tickets. Thanks in advance.

    • Mike Saint December 30, 2021

Oh nevermind. I see one for July.

  • Flying Tiger December 30, 2021

Miles, Need your help. I want to book this myself before tomorrow but I don’t see any dates that you can travel for 32K miles. I understand it has to be booked before 12/31/21 which I will do today if we can transfer Capital One miles in 1 day to Turkish and get the 30% off Sale. Where do you book with miles on the Turkish airlines site? I don’t see that or even the mileage fare that you got and can Capital One transfer immediately to Turkish?

    • Miles December 30, 2021

FT – look right above the “dates and cabin” section and you’ll see ( award ticket ) that should prompt you to login. From there just do a normal search with award ticket clicked. My buddy transferred Cap1 and it was instantaneous, but don’t count on it. Mine took right at 24 hours to populate.

  • DaninMCI December 30, 2021

Could you finish the award trip ticket on Turkish online? This has been a real problem recently where you find the award and it never gives you a “buy” or finish button on their website so you have to end up calling.

    • Miles December 30, 2021

Hey Dan – yep, that message popped up, but at the bottom it had the 31,500 and $171 with a continue button, clicked it and I was able to process without any issues.
