I love the disruption of FinTech and Cardless has been making waves with digital first cards. After raising $40m in a series B, they just dropped the news that Amex Ventures has invested in the company and they will be joining the American Express Network with co-branded cards coming soon.
Don’t forget that Cardless launched two co-branded LATAM cards in June so it’ll be fun to see what they have in lined up later this year!
“Cardless’ digital-first mission and customer-first mindset make our brands a strong match,” said William Stredwick, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Global Network Services North America, American Express. “Leading brands want to give their customers a more personalized experience and engage with them more deeply, and our relationship with Cardless makes that possible by offering their customers access to benefits and protections from American Express.”
Customers will have access to:
- Amex Offers
- Global Dining Access by Resy
- Pre-sale Tickets
- Purchase Protection
If you’re unfamiliar with how digital first works… you can apply for a Cardless card via your smartphone, if approved, you’ll have access to a virtual card in your mobile wallet almost instantaneously. You’ll get a physical card a few days later, but the app will be able to manage everything you need from rewards, purchases, bill payment, etc.
