I’m currently in the middle of writing 2019 Holy Land reviews, much of which are centered in Israel, and stumbled across this story. I was lucky enough to fly over to Israel via Newark on United’s 777-300ER in Polaris Business Class using points. As we landed in Tel Aviv I couldn’t help but notice the Iron Dome batteries protecting the Tel Aviv airport. It was a sobering moment indeed, and quickly draws attention to the reality Israelis live in every day. In fact, the day we left the dome was deployed as 100s of explosives were launched from Gaza – a fact we didn’t learn about until landing in Jordan. Now…it looks as though a new technology has emerged to detect and destroy combatant drones via laser. Check out the video below – I can’t help but feel as though the future has arrived.
