Hijacked Libyan plane landed on Malta while a movie was filming about a hijacking
You can’t make this stuff up. A movie, Entebbe, starring Daniel Bruhl, Rosamund Pike, and Vincent Cassel is shooting at the Malta airport. Entebbe is about a hijacking, one that forced a plane to land in Entebbe, Uganda in 1976 – it was an absolutely horrific event and luckily today’s incident ended peacefully. While that movie was using the Malta Airport as a backdrop and shooting scenes, a real-life hijacked planed landed at that airport and shut down production. What are the odds of that?! A Hijacked Libyan plane landed on Malta while a movie was filming about a hijacking?! Luckily, all the passengers were released!
Per the BBC,
We’ve had five hijackings landing here and ironically today they were actually filming Entebbe on the airport grounds – and that had to be stopped,” she told BBC World TV.
Here’s a video from CNN,
Thank God all the passengers were released safely in this incident!
