Hyatt All-Inclusive

One of the most common questions I get on TikTok is how can I use my points for all-inclusive resorts? Well, Hyatt just added 6 new options that are immediately bookable, but on May 9th, another 50 will be added to the program. There is a new award chart attached and from what we’ve seen so far…it’s pretty attractive. What’s driving all these new opportunities? Hyatt doubled its resort portfolio worldwide with the acquisition of Apple Leisure Group last fall, and as a part of that, acquired the AMR Collection, a portfolio of 7 all inclusive brands. They have developed a new collection called the Inclusive Collection which will be comprised of 9 brands…the legacy Ziva and Zilara +

Hyatt’s new Award Chart for All-Inclusive Resorts

These are the rates for single or double occupancy. As a point of reference, there wasn’t a standard room in the Ziva or Zilara portfolio, Hyatt’s legacy all-inclusive resorts, that cost more than 25k points per night at standard rates. They now go up to 50k.

Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita Riviera Maya as an example with Endless Privileges

I have wanted to stay at this resort for well over a decade and the value using points is downright unbelievable. It’s currently a category 6, 25k points per night, and the base room is an 1200 sq ft  Ocean Front Suite with a terrace. It also comes with Endless Privileges for 25k points per night. This is from the end of January 2023 and standard rate is nearly $1000 a night.

And here is what would be included.

How can you earn loads of Hyatt points?

There are several credit card options that will help you accumulate points faster.

BILT

The easiest would be paying rent with your Bilt Mastercard Elite. Hyatt is one of their transfer partners and the card offers fee free rent payment, no annual fee, 2x dining, and 3x travel. Just use your card 5x on non-rent transactions and you’ll earn up to 50k points a year just on your rent.

Chase also has Hyatt as a transfer partner and as long as you carry a Chase Sapphire Preferred, Reserve, or Ink Business Preferred you can move your points from Ultimate Rewards into any of their partner programs. Here are the Chase cards I keep:

  • Chase Freedom Flex and Chase Freedom Unlimited have amazing offers currently running and I would highly recommend both cards
    • They were improved in September of 2020 and at least one should be in your wallet
  • Chase Sapphire Preferred  is a great starter premium card and one that I actually carry
    • I think this is a great card to view as your Chase cornerstone
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve has an offer of 50k Ultimate Rewards after $4k spend in 3 months. It’s also well worth your interest and includes many additional perks, but has a much higher annual fee of $550
  • Chase Ink Business Preferred is one of the best business cards you can carry and I actually have two of them in my wallet ( different businesses )
    • 3x on a litany of categories and earns transferrable points
  • Chase Ink Business Cash
    • rotating quartely 5x categories make this a great card to keep in your wallet to maximize spend
  • Chase Ink Business Unlimited
    • earn 1.5x on every dollar your business spends

Chase also has two Hyatt branded credit cards which you can read about here.

Overall

I’m eager to see how the rest of the portfolio is folded into Hyatt and what resorts end up pricing at 50k a night. Perhaps, it’ll be properties like the Zoetry in Mallorca which looks drop dead gorgeous.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Supporting Cast:

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® is exceptional starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.

If you carry this card alongside Chase’s cashback cards like the Chase Freedom Flex®  and Chase Freedom Unlimited® or the business versions: Ink Business Cash® , Ink Business Unlimited® you can combine the points into Preferred account and transfer into hotel and airline partners

Annual fee is quite low at $95 a year + you get a 10% anniversary bonus on points + $50 hotel credit in Chase travel.
