Hyatt Credit Card holders:

20% back on award stays at select properties

We saw a similar deal last year ( 25% ) that targeted World of Hyatt credit card holders who choose to stay at the Independent brands of Hyatt: Destination, JDV, and Unbound. This time around Hyatt credit card holders ( personal or business ) can get a 20% bonus on award stays at Joie de Vivre, Unbound Collection, and Destination Hotels. Effectively, if your hotel is 20k a night, you’d get a 4k bonus dropping your net cost to 16k. You need to register, which you can do here. Let’s take a look at the details

  • You must be a World of Hyatt credit cardholder
  • Register by 7/31/22 – you can do so here
  • Stay between 7/5/22 and 9/5/22
  • Get 20% back on award redemptions
  • 30k World of Hyatt points max rebate

Unsure where these hotels may be located?

There are 93 of them across North America – you can play with the map herea map of the united states

You can also select each individual brand

Funny enough I’ve stayed at a couple of Unbound Collection properties and love the unique aspect to their design and vibe. It’s cool to be able to earn status, redeem points, etc at properties that exude a boutique and individual vibe. A few years back, shortly after the Unbound Collection was created I stayed at the Driskill in Austin, Texas – it was definitely haunted, lol. The other, the Carmelo Resort and Spa in Uruguay was a phenomenal property, but sadly is no longer in the collection.

One property that I’ve been keen to check out is the Holston House in Nashville.

We keep an up to date spreadsheet that lists the best ever offers: You can find that spreadsheet here.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Supporting Cast:

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® is exceptional starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.

If you carry this card alongside Chase’s cashback cards like the Chase Freedom Flex®  and Chase Freedom Unlimited® or the business versions: Ink Business Cash® , Ink Business Unlimited® you can combine the points into Preferred account and transfer into hotel and airline partners

Annual fee is quite low at $95 a year + you get a 10% anniversary bonus on points + $50 hotel credit in Chase travel.
