This is a fantastic development. The net was all aflutter when news broke that IHG would be devaluing their annual night certificate which had been valid at ANY property to properties list at 40k or below. Honestly, the 40k cap is pretty fair, but the roll out of the announcement was terrible. As OMAAT noted a twitter conversation has confirmed that annual night certificates are going to be unrestricted until May 1st, 2019. This is great news and while it’s a devaluation of the free night, it’s still a very valuable card to hold.
It’s worth noting that this is in reference to the IHG Rewards Select card, not the new IHG Premier which offers a free night for 40k and below.
