IHG Diamond Status Challenge – targeted
You can get instant Platinum status after you register and then have the chance to get IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite status through the end of 2024 after just 8 nights. This is a remarkable status match if you qualify with an ultra low amount of nights to secure IHG’s top tier status. We actually saw this same promotion last year around this time; however, that promotion gave status for 2023 and 2024. The current iteration of the promotion only gives Diamond status for this year…you’ll need to traditionally qualify for 2025. What do you get with IHG Diamond elite status?
The biggest benefit right off the bat is breakfast. Then as you accrue nights you’ll have the option of choosing Milestone Rewards. I highlighted what I would choose at each level. I’ve had Diamond status for the past two years, and the added breakfast benefit is nice, but upgrades to suites have been hit or miss.

This is an incredible deal if you qualify – I still have diamond status so my IHG number was ineligible, but give it a go!
Terms and Conditions
*To participate in the “Just for you: Private Diamond Offer” promotional offer (the “Offer”), you must be an IHG One Rewards member and must be invited to participate in the Offer. After receiving an invitation, you must register your member number in advance in order to be eligible for the Offer. Gold Elite status and Platinum Elite status awarded under this Promotion will be reflected in the member’s IHG One Rewards account following completion of the number of qualifying nights required to achieve such status, as described in these terms and conditions. Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card is great starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.
If you carry this card alongside Chase’s cashback cards like the Chase Freedom Flex® and Chase Freedom Unlimited® or the business versions: Chase Ink Business Cash® , Chase Ink Business Unlimited® you can combine the points into the Sapphire Preferred account and transfer into hotel and airline partners
Annual fee remains quite low at $95 a year and if you use the $100 Annual Chase Travel Hotel Credit via Chase Travel℠ you’ll wipe out that annual fee every year. It has great bonus categories and other useful statement credits to enhance your travel.
One thing that is a bummer is Chase lowered the transfer ratio to World of Hyatt from 1:1 to 4:3.
