All Time High – no brainer for Small Business Owners

5x bonus categories. No annual fee. Ability to convert into Ultimate Rewards. The Chase Ink Business Cash is a card I keep squarely in my wallet, and one you should highly consider acquiring with this all time high sign up bonus. It’s one of the best small business credit cards you can hold. A $900 sign up bonus after spending $6000 in the first 3 months is amazing.

Remember, even though this card earns cash back, if you hold any other Chase card that earns Ultimate Rewards ( Ink Business Preferred, Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve, etc), you can convert your cash back into UR. Transfer partners is how we take those amazing flights and stay in incredible hotels. Let’s take a look at the Chase Ink Business Cash

The Benefits

I’m going to explain everything as if you are converting in UR. That’s where I extract the most value ( off partner transfers) and it’ll just make it easier to explain and digest.

  • 5x Bonus points at
    • Office Supply stores
    • Internet, Cable, and Phone Services
    • capped at $25k
  • 2x Bonus points at
    • Gas Stations
    • Restaurants
    • capped at $25k

A lot of businesses hold special promotions for their employees and reward them with gift cards to their favorite restaurants, online retailers, or shopping centers. A great place to buy gift cards for these promotions are office supply stores. You’ll earn 5x points for your business. A win-win.

It’s also a no-brainer to put Internet/Cable/Phone bills on this card. You can earn thousands of bonus points by paying with this card.

But I don’t have a small business, Miles. You may, and not know it. Keep reading.

Chase is very friendly to entrepreneurs and small business owners. In fact, if you haven’t been in business for long, or you haven’t established yourself with an EIN, you can still apply as a Sole Proprietor ( fill in your SSN ). If you run a small side business (think bloggers, ebay sellers, tutors, consultants, etc) and want a card to segregate your business income from your personal income at tax time…this is a great opportunity to earn a load of points and help yourself out.

Personally, I have two businesses that I run, one has an EIN, and one doesn’t. I still need to keep all of their records separate, and so I have cards for each business.

Is the Ink business cash restricted by 5/24

Yes. Every single card that earns Ultimate Rewards ( or cash back that can be converted into UR) is restricted by 5/24. However, Chase business cards don’t add to your number.

Transfer Partners are legit!

What are some other ideas can you do with 82.5k Ultimate Rewards?

You can fly Emirates First for 85k on many routes…

Stay at the Park Hyatt Vienna for 4 nights ( 25k a night )

Stay in a Presidential Suite near Disney World in Orlando for 24k a night

I flew in Virgin’s Upper Class for 47.5k ( but watch out for those fees )

Or…for 60k you could fly on BA First Class from Chicago to London

60k you could fly from the US to Europe on United.

I’d love to have my wife apply for this one but am a bit hesitant after seeing reports about UR / Chase account freezes and shut downs despite her only being at 2 or 3/24. She’s around 830-850 but has 6 Chase cards including the Sapphire Preferred, which she just got a couple months ago and the Ink Preferred a few months before that. She also has an Ink Plus she’s had for a few years. Thinking she’d be in the clear but it would suck to run into a UR shut down.

We’re also aiming for her to snag the Southwest biz & personal cards around the end of the year to go for the companion pass for 19-20.

Any thoughts on her going for this sweet Ink cash card as well?

I think we’ve seen a shift, but there aren’t any true dps to derive what impacts decisions. I’d be risk off personally

Can I get the ink cash if I’ve already got the ink business plus?

BTW… I’d like to see a Delta F seat for 45,000 to Hawaii. Good luck finding that.

Patrick – yep, it’s a different product so you would qualify. And it’s a touch route, but not impossible. Also…Korean has great rates when redeeming on Hawaiian too for just 60k roundtrip – lieflat with much better avail.
