I book more flights with Alaska Airlines than any other program for two reasons: 1) You can earn elite miles on award flights and 2) the award chart is fantastic. It’s definitely a hit to see they’re going to raise the partner booking fee, which is nonrefundable btw, from $12.50 to $20 on July 1st, 2026. h/t omaat
One of the perks of the Alaska Airlines Summit Credit Card is waived partner booking fees when you use that Summit card during booking. It also comes with a 25k Global Companion certificate. Personally I think the 25k cert is enough to offset the $395 annual fee, but now that the partner booking fee is going up to $20, it makes this card even more valuable. I’ve canceled and rebooked over a dozen flights this year. I’ll likely do the same in the latter half of the year as well… that’s $240 in savings alone on partner award booking fees.
