The robots are taking over, the robots are taking over! It’s 2020, what else do you expect?! Jokes aside, robots could be used to regularly clean aircraft between flights all around the world. If this sounds like something out of a Sci-Fi novel, think agian. JetBlue announced that it had begun employing…drumroll: The Honeywell UV Cabin System. If you’re like me, you were expecting a far cooler name for this pathogen killing, UV emitting, size of beverage cart, entire cabin disinfected in 10minutes, beast of technology.
But…we got UV Cabin System.
I was hoping for the Covid Killing Chappie. Or, perhaps the Airline Avenger? Despite the lackluster name, JetBlue announced that the Honeywell UV Cabin System will be used at both JFK and FLL to see how they perform. The hope is that they can utilize this UV light emitting system to quickly and effectively sanitize aircraft and keep passengers safe from airborne pathogens.
