LA to Hong Kong in 4 hours? Yes, Please
Tom Johnson has designed the Cygnus M3, a plane that could not just bring back the Concorde era, but surpass it. The Cygnus M3 is a supersonic jet capable of transporting 32 passengers from LA to Hong Kong in 4 hours, Dubai to Melbourne in 4h 8m, Paris to Sao Paulo in 3h 50m, and yes…New York to London in just 2 hours. If that isn’t incredible enough, Johnson says that roundtrips between LA and Hong Kong would cost just $3400, and suspects it would cost roughly $120 Million to construct the jet once certain legal obstacles are overcome. Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.
