For years, one of the best uses of Choice Privileges has been on their partner Preferred Hotels to access luxury properties. However, this redemption has been painful due to the fact that you’ve always had to phone a rep and often reps have no idea that the partnership even exists let alone how to effectively make the redemption. This has resulted in a very good opportunity for redemption, but often a headache in actually executing it. It was well spotted by Frequent Miler that this now online. WAHOO! This is fantastic news and adds value to the following currencies since this redemption is much, much easier to make.

  • One of my favorite hotels in Nashville is Preferred Hotel called The Hermitage

Choice partners:

  • Amex:
    • 1:1
  • Capital One
    • 1:1
  • Citi
    • 1000 Citi = 2000 Choice
  • Wells Fargo
    • 1000 WF = 2000 Choice

Booking a Preferred Hotel property with Choice Points – link

This also makes buying Choice Points a better deal

Why? Because booking the Preferred properties is now so much easier. If you see a Preferred Hotel property that is available with points, and you can buy those points cheaper than you’d pay in cash, you can buy and book in a couple clicks.

a screenshot of a storeAn example – The Bobby Hotel is a very cool spot in the heart of Nashville and rates can skyrocket during peak season. You could buy those points for $309 if they’re offered at the price above, and the ability to buy, populate your account, and book is all online. This is awesome for potential arbitrage booking at great hotels.

Overall

This is awesome and truly means I’ll look seriously at transferring more points to Choice if I can access great properties with a quick transfer ( Especially with Citi and Wells that are 1:2 ).

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Supporting Cast:

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® is exceptional starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.

If you carry this card alongside Chase’s cashback cards like the Chase Freedom Flex®  and Chase Freedom Unlimited® or the business versions: Ink Business Cash® , Ink Business Unlimited® you can combine the points into Preferred account and transfer into hotel and airline partners

All I see is View Hotel and Buy Points. Where is the availability calendar view? I don’t want to buy points or transfer them in until I can find availability.

FYI, typo – “Wells Fargo 10000 WF = 2000 Choice”
