Pay for Priority Pass entrance with your Reserve and get reimbursed

I just learned a cool little fact about the Chase Sapphire Reserve. It’s been well documented that the Reserve comes with THE BEST Priority Pass membership out there because it allows you to bring in as many guests as are on your itinerary. That beats both the Prestige ( +2) and Amex Plat ( just cardholder). But what happens if you get your Reserve and are traveling before you receive your Priority Pass? Or what if you leave your Priority Pass at home and don’t have a virtual card or account set up? Well, I’ve just learned that you can pay the fee for a Priority Pass entrance with your Reserve and get reimbursed. SCORE!!!!!!

According to a phone Rep you can get reimbursed for 2 entrances per year.

If you have left your card at home, or are traveling before you receive your membership card (You have to have signed up already so that there is an active Priority Pass account) you can charge the fee to your Reserve. Then, call into customer service, tell them what happened, and they will reimburse your card for the entrance fee – up to 2 times per year. Now the only thing the Rep couldn’t confirm was if the fee for guests was reimbursed as well. He thought that it would be, but couldn’t confirm. I know this is a huge deal and hope to get this clarified, but I’d hope they would honor the benefits of the card, including guest access, and not just access for the card holder. But hey…there’s no reason you can’t enjoy all those lounge bennies yourself and leave all those NON-RESERVE holding hanger-onners outside to watch you sip some aged brandy, warm your feet by the fire, and pick hundos from the money tree. Ok maybe you’ll just be drinking cheap wine and dipping carrot sticks into some garlic hummus, but you deserve it dang nabbit! 😉

There are conflicting reports that you can access Priority Pass Lounge by showing your online/digital account

This is another option if you have an online account and forgot your physical card. Usually, Priority Pass lounges require the physical presentation of the card ( for memberships that are granted through a credit card), but there have been instances where they do allow access by showing a virtual or online membership card. This is a YMMV and depends on the lounge you’re looking to access and whether your account can be registered digitally.

Hope this helps out anyone who may be traveling and has either left their card at home or traveling before they receive their membership card!

PS I love the Korean Air lounge at LAX Tom Bradley. A short walk from Terminal 4 where American does most it’s service. If you’re cold I highly recommend warming yourself like Miles in the marble swathed bathrooms with a hair dryer.

Just called into Chase Card Services – they told me as of today (4/2/19) they only re-imburse once for the lifetime of the account. As a head’s up, if you call into Chase Card Services when you’re at the lounge, they can give you your account number over the phone. Now if you have time to do that or not…that’s a different story!

I was just told that today by a Chase Rep

I actually heard late last night – Maybe it’s a new thing being pushed?
