Ok this is getting ridiculous at this point. Over the past year I’ve received a series of targeted offers to my Amex account. To make this clear, I’m not talking about offers that I post on my Amex referral pages, but rather targeted to me specifically.
I’m not alone either…the points and miles blogosphere has been quite vocal about these offers being distributed regularly, but I just got another one!
This time, I received an offer via traditional mail ( the prior offers were either on the Amex website or via email ) and it included a unique, pre-approved, invite code. I have until September 30th to pull the trigger and let’s just say…I’m very very tempted. I have to decide by 9/30/21
Here’s an accounting of the offers I’ve received so far this year:
I’ll preface this by saying when these all started I was carrying an Amex Business Platinum, had held an Amex Business Gold in the past.
- 100k Amex Business Platinum after $15k spend in 3 months
- 80k Amex Business Gold after $10k spend in 3 months
- 90k Amex Business Gold after $10k spend in 3 months
- 150k Amex Business Platinum after $15k spend in 3 months
Why I wouldn’t go for the offer
I’m currently holding 2 Amex Business Platinum cards and Amex can often rake points back. Here’s the thing…there isn’t any once in a lifetime language in my offer, and I’ve only been accepting offers that have been specifically sent to me. But…I also don’t want to poke the bear since I have a long and great relationship with Amex. But 150k is incredible and I’m in a great situation where we’ve purchased a house and are doing little things to it, buying furniture, office stuff, and the spend wouldn’t be a big deal.
Would you pull the trigger?
