Review: Plaza Premium Lounge Edmonton
I visited Edmonton, Canada last September riiiiiiiight as the weather was starting to dip. Being from Indiana, but living in LA, I love going to places with real weather and seasons. I had a nice couple of days at the Westin and enjoyed High Tea at the Fairmont, which I’d recommend making sure they offer the hotel tour when you go – a nice little highlight and add-on! Flying back from Edmonton to LA I had the pleasure of visiting the Plaza Premium Lounge Edmonton.
It’s easiest if you look for the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge sign by Gate 52
The Deets:
- September, 2016
- Access via Priority Pass
- you can also pay for access. rates range from 40 to 70 Cad
Entrance:
After you exit the elevator you have two options. To the left is the Maple Leaf lounge and to the right is the Plaza Premium lounge. I actually visited both lounges and I’d say they offer similar products and are commensurate in quality. The Plaza Premium lounge is very smart, neutral in tone, and just plain nice. Just like all of the staff.
Nice bar area, and quite empty. All free.
There were a few different food options
I had an egg salad sandwich that was kept in a refrigerated case, along with other itmes, that a member of the staff was more than happy to get for me. There was also a couple hot food options, pasta and meatballs, as well as a salad bar. Drinks were kept to the right
The nicest part of the lounge was a sunroom styled sitting area with TVs at one end. There were also computers available to use on the right hand side
It was a great spot to sit, watch passengers walk by, planes come and go, enjoy the sun, and watch a football game. I’d highly recommend going to this area after you grab a bite to eat.
Overall:
This is a great, quiet, well appointed lounge if you have a bit of time to kill before a flight, couple hours laying over, or a short delay. It’s a relatively small lounge and I could see the lounge getting crowded during heavier traffic periods, but if you hit it during a period like I had – I’d say I preferred it to the Maple Leaf lounge which was VERY crowded.
