IHG came out with with a new deal for their Intercontinental brand that runs through the rest of the year . At select properties, you can enjoy a 3rd night free when you book a club level room, or higher, between March 1st and December 31st. The list of participating properties is pretty awesome if you’re looking to take a trip to Asia/Middle East/Australia/Africa.

Details:

  • Must book your stay between March 1 and December 31, 2019
  • Must book by March 10, 2019
  • 3 Consecutive nights
  • Club room, Suite or Villa.

Can you stack this? I’d think so

While the room needs to be booked via the website, Citi Prestige allows this sort of booking for their 4th night free benefit. You’d simply request the concierge to use the subsite that offers the deal, and book for 4 nights. Note that Citi Prestige’s 4th night free is a pro-rate 25% off, so if your stay is like this: $100, $100, free, $100 – you wouldn’t get the $100 discounted on your statement, but rather $300/4, or $75. Still a fantastic way of doing it.

Credit Cards to use for the stay.

  • Both the Chase Sapphire Reserve and Chase Ink Business Preferred would earn you 3x points on travel
  • Chase Sapphire Preferred would yield 2x points
  • IHG Premier would earn you 10x IHG points when staying at their own properties
    • You could also pair this buy 2 get a 3rd night with IHG Premier’s 4th night free on points benefit
      • This would effectively get you a week long stay for the cost of your first two nights, and then the points needed for an entry level room for 3 nights.
      • Mon, Tues, Weds ( Paid in a club room ) Switch rooms and Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun ( use points, get 4th night free).
  • Citi Thank You Premier would get you 3x points on your stay as well.

Here’s the full list of Participating Hotels

One of those listed is the Intercontinental Sydney – a club level that was certainly worth the fee to us. I mean…look at this view. I’ve also enjoyed stays at the Intercontinental Westlake Hanoi ( feature image of our 2 bedroom villa ), Intercontinental Singapore, and Intercontinental Johannesburg Sandton Towers.

I tried a bunch of dates and qualfying rooms weren’t showing rates online in Nairobi…very weird. I’d hit up IHG and see what’s going on…looks like other people are having similar issues at other properties as well

I’m trying to book Nairobi for three days but I can’t get it to work. How does it actually get applied?
