I signed up for the card when it was offering a 100k signup bonus last year. This offer has been back a few times, and once it offered not only 100k, but also a free night upon your first year’s renewal. In addition to the 100k, I’ve been able to earn an additional 80k through fine folk like yourself by just referring people to the card. Amex has really incentivized referrals by making those offers often sweeter than the public ones ( my referral will get you 90k, whereas the public is 75k). Thanks Amex! Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.
