One of my favorite perks of American Express cards are their targeted Amex offers. I currently carry two Platinum cards: Mercedes and Business. That’s a solid grand in annual fees ( GASP!) , but I don’t even sweat it because the benefits outweigh the fees. One of the benefits that isn’t featured when you sign up is “Amex offers.” They’ve ranged from mega bonuses on buying furniture ( 20k points for $1k purchase) and on purchases from Air France and KLM ( still offering 20k points on $1k spend) to offers featured in this post. I’d highly recommend you check your Amex offers frequently to make sure you are abreast of the current offers and updates.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

Annual fee is quite low at $95 a year + you get a 10% anniversary bonus on points + $50 hotel credit in Chase travel.
