25% off sale on Virgin Atlantic Reward flights

Ends at 11:59pm GMT 9/17/24

Virgin Atlantic has a great deal that reduces the price of Virgin Atlantic award flights, upgrades, and companion bookings by 25%.  The big thing to pay attention to on this deal is that only the points are reduced by 25%, not the surcharges. .

We’ve seen several Virgin Atlantic Reward sales in the past, most recently was a full site 20% off sale so this is larger, but more selected in region. The biggest sale we’ve seen is a whopping 50%.

Keep in mind that Virgin just rolled out a brand new A330-neo Upper Class that features a suite in the front. I’ve been lucky enough to fly it 3 times now, including once in the Retreat Suites shown below.

What’s the Catch?

There isn’t really a “catch” per se, but rather Virgin Atlantic has exceptionally high surcharges on their flights. So, while you’ll get 25% off the points, you don’t get 25% of the surcharges back…which can a lot.

Don’t forget the Reward Seat Checker

This feature of Virgin makes finding award space much easier. You can find it here – it shows a calendar of avail. You can find it here

Also… Air France, Delta, and Hawaiian miles can be book Virgin Atlantic.

Here’s what the same flight shown above would price out with these currencies:

Air France:

Delta

Hawaiian

This should price at 62.5k miles and roughly $300 to $400;however, Hawaiian hasn’t been able to book Virgin for quite some time, but this could always change and it’s worth being on your radar.a screenshot of a white sheet

Overall

If you don’t mind paying the surcharges, or perhaps you’re using this for a one way flight back from the UK where it’s quite difficult to avoid high fees in general, this could be a very opportune time to fly in a super cool lie flat Upper Class experience.

Or…if you don’t care so much about flying flat, the surcharges are far more palatable in Economy or Premium Economy.
