POP Post: Japan Airlines First Class
Let’s be honest. Sometimes you don’t want to read a whole review. So we’ve created a new series called POP post: Pictures Only Post. A more detailed review will come in the following week or two, but here’s a quick look Miles’ experience onboard Japan Airlines First Class from NRT-ORD.
Miles used just 60,750 AA miles pre-devaluation to book this award and rebooked the ticket originating in Hanoi and ultimately ending in Indianapolis 5 times. As most of you know, the best times to find award tickets are 10+ months out, and less than 2 weeks in. Additionally, JAL releases the bulk of it’s award space within 14 days of departure. All the finessing was totally worth it as Miles, Dave, and I LOVED our flight home…and the 5 rounds of Maguro Nigiri we wolfed down at the First Class lounge in Tokyo.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.
