Whether you’re in economy, or lounging in first class, Wifi makes every minute of your flight pass by MUCH faster. In fact, I’m actually writing this aboard a flight utilizing a free GoGo passes from my Amex Business Platinum card ( you get 10 a year). Typically I like to work on my laptop, and then turn a free movie on my phone. However, on this flight my phone would connect to GoGo, but it wouldn’t load a single page, or redirect to the GoGo airborne site. Luckily, I was able to circumvent with a little trick, and because I’d planned ahead and updated my AA app – I was able to easily watch it on my phone while working on my computer. Here are my two tips:
The first – download the AA app, or whichever carrier you’re flying with:
This will make your life much easier if you plan on watching anything on your phone, ipad, etc.
The 2nd – bookmark this web address on your phone: http://airborne.gogoinflight.com/app/
Usually whenever I connect to GoGo and load any website it redirects to GoGo’s inflight media page. From there you can either login, or watch free content. This time it wouldn’t load. I turned my Wifi on and off, I “forgot this network,” and even restarted my phone. Nothing.
I logged into my GoGo account using my computer. It auto redirected to the above address with /aal added on to it. I simply wrote that address out onto my phone and wham bam thank you ma’am – it loaded.
I’m now writing and watching like every good blogger should be doing 😉
