Bilt Rewards differentiates their Platinum status with comped FlyingBlue Gold Status

Bilt Rewards has continued to add perks and benefits to those who attain status – the most attractive of these are the massive Rent Day transfer bonuses we see featured throughout the year. This has been the biggest reason to strive for status…get a bigger bonus. As an FYI I am a Bilt Rewards Senior Advisor and Investor.

For people like me, who don’t rent, I’d be shooting for Bilt Status via spend. And, honestly speaking, up until now, I didn’t really think there was a massive reason to double my spend to $50k get to get an extra 25% transfer bonus. As an advisor, these things get talked about behind closed doors and lo and behold…a new benefit.

So far this year we’ve seen Virgin, Aeroplan, IHG, and Flying Blue receive the following bonus structure:

  • 75% blue
    • 1000 Bilt = 1750
  • 100% silver
    • 1000 Bilt = 2000
  • 125% gold
    • 1000 Bilt = 2250
  • 150% platinum
    • 1000 Bilt = 2500

In order to gain Bilt Status you need to fulfill the following requirements:

QUALIFYING POINTSBased on the annual Bilt Points you earn SPEND

Fast track your way to elite status with eligible non-rent spend on a Bilt Mastercard, or other linked Mastercard, American Express, or Visa card

Silver 50,000 Bilt Points $10,000
Gold 125,000 Bilt Points $25,000
Platinum 200,000 Bilt Points $50,000

ONLY Platinum members get a direct match into Sky Team Elite Plus status via Flying Blue Gold

Beginning today, Thursday, February 29th, Bilt Platinum Members can activate 12 months of Flying Blue Gold status by transferring 10k Bilt points to FlyingBlue. Yes, that is SkyTeam’s top tier status. Oh…you don’t fly Air France or KLM…that doesn’t matter. You have status with the alliance…and both Delta and Virgin Atlantic are members alongside all those listed below.

Who is currently in SkyTeam?

  • Aeroflot,
  • Aerolíneas Argentinas,
  • Aeroméxico,
  • Air Europa,

How it works: One match per 12 months

After qualifying for Bilt Rewards Platinum status, members can go to the elite status tab in the Bilt app and select ‘Elite Status Match’.

  • Activate Status Match
  • Transfer 10k Bilt Points
  • Takes up to 3 days
  • Get 12 months post activation
  • Getting another Status Match
    • “All Bilt Platinum Members are currently eligible to enroll in this status match in 2024. To request status again, members will need to requalify for Bilt Platinum Status in 2025. Ex) If a member qualifies for Bilt Platinum in April 2024 and opts in for 12 months of status, they cannot get a second status match in May 2025 unless they have requalified for Bilt Platinum again in 2025.

 Better Customer Experience:

You’ll get your own “Platinum Member Specialist Team” who will give you dedicated specialist support. If this is done well it should be pretty awesome if you need to hold FlyingBlue award redemptions while you transfer points. This specilist is based in NYC as well.

Overall

I already have SkyTeam Elite Plus via Virgin Atlantic so I won’t be prioritizing spend to hit this personally, but it’s additional benefits like this that make the increased spend or point requirements worth chasing as the status levels continue to differentiate.

Again…I’m proud to be partnered with Bilt as they innovate in the world of loyalty with new and inventive ways to reward loyalty members with outsized transfer bonuses and outright status matching to SkyTeam top tier status.

This is all with a no annual fee card that earns points on rent with no transaction fees.
