Great news from Hyatt! I checked my World of Hyatt account this morning and was pleasantly surprised to see all of my Chase World of Hyatt Elite nights had already credited for the year. The reason I say “all” is because the World of Hyatt credit card had offered 10 elite nights as a special promotion to new cardholders up until 12/31/2020. I signed up for that card specifically to hit Globalist status, and soon realized the regular 5 elite nights that the card typically comes with hit my account immediately, but then it took another 6 weeks for the bonus 5 elite nights to hit. I figured the same thing would happen this year, but alas…all 10 World of Hyatt Elite nights have hit my account. But the good news doesn’t stop there.
You can see here that that they populated in two separate credits, 5 days apart.
Bonus Journey Double Nights will populate soon
If you’re unfamiliar, Hyatt has a double night promo running since last year. Currently, every night you stay counts as 2, but last year, each night would be credited in 2020 and again in 2021. Those nights were supposed to populate in a couple of months, but great new from OMAAT – those will begin populating accounts very soon! Here’s the info they gathered:
-
Starting this week (the week of January 4, 2021), bonus World of Hyatt elite nights that were earned through January 4, 2021, will post
-
Going forward and for stays in January and February, bonus World of Hyatt elite nights will be posted every two weeks
-
Furthermore, for those who applied for the World of Hyatt Card with the offer for five elite nights, those are expected to post “in the next week or two”
Hitting World of Hyatt Elite Status is much easier this year
Qualifying for World of Hyatt Elite status has been slashed in half for 2021. With those Elite nights populating even faster, it means you’ll hit status quicker and start to enjoy those great benefits. I’m thinking I will actually re-qualify for Globalist status until 2023 in the next couple of weeks.
If you want to know how I was able to hit Globalist status via award nights in 2020 – go here.
Recap
This is great news that Hyatt has decided to pull forward the schedule on elite nights posting to member accounts. Now, if you do decide to plan for trips later in the year, you’ll have status to lean on, or Milestone awards to redeem in advance.
