Hilton is offering a very solid deal to shore up your Hilton Honors account: For every point you buy, they will give you a free point. This is the best public sale price we’ve seen for Hilton Honors; however, I’d note that Hilton also had a sale that ended in December that priced points at 1/2 cent, but allowed 160k points to be purchased. Twice the current allowance, so while the price is outstanding, it isn’t the MOST you could buy. As I always disclose: Points devalue all the time, so I’d advise you to heavily consider this when making a purchase, and only do so if you have a definite redemption in mind.

The deal runs through February 26th. Get 100% bonus when you buy Hilton Honors

What’s an outstanding use of 160k Hilton Honors? How about the drop dead gorgeous Conrad Bora Bora. 80k a night base rate.

If you have Silver or higher status ( Gold comes with an American Express Platinum and Diamond with the Amex Hilton Aspire ) you’ll get a 5th night free when using points. That means if you can find the availability, you could stay for 5 nights at the Conrad Bora Bora for 320k points. You could buy 160k here, and pick up the outstanding Amex Hilton Aspire with 150k welcome bonus and you’d practically have enough points for a 5 night stay…all in for $800 with this purchase. This is obviously an incredible example of redemption, and most of you won’t jet off to Bora Bora, but this is what’s possible if you so choose.

Since you’re probably going to tell me you’d never find 5 nights with points and accuse me of all sorts of things…I pulled some dates. Feb has wide open space:

Starting late in the calendar you can find plenty of dates with avail.

What would that room normally cost? $900/ night. ( pulled from 12/05 – 12/10 )

We keep an up to date spreadsheet that lists the best ever offers: You can find that spreadsheet here.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Supporting Cast:

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card is great starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.

If you carry this card alongside Chase’s cashback cards like the Chase Freedom Flex®  and Chase Freedom Unlimited® or the business versions: Chase Ink Business Cash® ,  Chase Ink Business Unlimited® you can combine the points into the Sapphire Preferred account and transfer into hotel and airline partners

Annual fee remains quite low at $95 a year and if you use the $100 Annual Chase Travel Hotel Credit via Chase Travelâ„  you’ll wipe out that annual fee every year.  It has great bonus categories and other useful statement credits to enhance your travel.

One thing that is a bummer is Chase lowered the transfer ratio to World of Hyatt from 1:1 to 4:3.

Just got back from the Conrad Bora Bora. We were upgraded to an Over Water Villa that was about ~$1,100 a night as a Diamond, but we met others that were Gold and got upgraded as well. We booked pretty last minute, but an amazing value at 80k a night. Add on the $250 Aspire credit and you can get out of there pretty cheap. Food and especially alcohol is ridiculously expensive, but just bring some snacks and load up on duty free at LAX and you can make it more manageable.
