Chase Ink Referrals
Just a quick head’s up that Chase has announced an end to the incredible refer a friend bonus caps on the Chase Ink cards which started in October of 2023. Prior to 10/23, it used to be capped at 20k per referral, up to 100k a year, but then we were given an incredible increase to 40k per referral with a cap of 200k in a year. That was a great time to refer friends. Well, Chase has decided to revert back to the offer that existed pre October 2023. The total amount of points you can earn per year will drop to 100k after 12/31 with 20k per referral. H/T FM
Note that you will receive a 1099 on these for a penny a piece, I.e. you’ll get a 1099 saying you got $400 per card. Still…this means that you could refer people to the Chase Ink cards and enjoy a hefty referral bonus. Feel free to leave your referrals in the comment section.

Do you qualify for a small business credit card?
I have an entire chapter dedicated to this in my book, and an entire article here. But long story short:
If you have a side hustle, earn money from the gig economy, or even now what people are referring to as the creator economy…the odds are strongly in your favor that you qualify for a small business credit card.
So many people earn money that isn’t W2 income, but they haven’t established formal LLCs or S-corps that have EIN ( Employer Identification Number), and they aren’t taking advantage of what that income opens the door to….but they can still apply and get approved for small business credit cards.
If you’re earning income on a 1099, you’re good to go. Some examples of those are…
- Online Coaches, tutors, etc
- Uber and Lyft drivers (assuming they still get 1099s whenever you’re reading this).
- DoorDash, GrubHub and Postmates
- Social Media income ( TikTok, Instagram, YouTube )
- Cater Waiters
- Personal Trainers
- Dog Walkers
- Freelance graphic designers and web designers
- Singers, artists, dancers, models, etc
- Virtual Assistants
- Ebay, Amazon and Facebook resellers
If this applies to you…the odds are very high you qualify for a small business credit card. Read this post for all of the details relating to the application process and how it can improve your credit.
