Currently, the Chase Freedom/Freedom Flex is offering 5x on PayPal purchases ( maxed at $1500 ) until the end of the year. So, any news pertaining to PayPal piques my interest and this is a downright gamechanger when it comes to Crypto. PayPal announced today, that PayPal users will be able to buy goods and services with Crypto and instantaneously convert their Crypto into fiat currency. But it doesn’t stop there…
You’ll also be able to Buy, Sell, and Hold Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin and PayPal looks to include this in international markets next year. As a great bonus, it’ll also be integrated into Venmo – so yes you’ll be able to Venmo your friends via Bitcoin.
The roll out begins in the next few weeks, but look for it to continue to be rolled out through next year.
It’s worth noting that the Chase 5x quarterly bonus stipulates that P2P, Friends/Family purchases are excluded from the bonus, but it’ll be interesting to see whether a Crypto purchase ( which is rolling out now ) will be a qualified category purchase?
Regardless, this makes the usability of Crypto far more mainstream, and soon people will be able to make and receive Venmo payments with Crypto as the underlying payment source. This is simply massive news for CryptoHeads.
