VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND
I would recommend acting fast on this space as it won’t last. American rarely opens up transatlantic space on their own metal let alone the most coveted of them all: LAX to London and vice versa. If you’re looking at flights in the month of February you’re going to be faced with much better odds of landing one of those flights as there are many dates with space avail. I found many dates up through March, but then it dropped off to no man’s land into April.
If you search, make sure you signify that you want only AA flights. You’ll need to “advance search”
American operates two planes – the 777-300ER and a 777-200.
- 108/109 is operated by the 77W
- 135/136 is operated by the 772
It’s worth noting that this 772 features seats that are connected in the middle and have warranted complaints. I’ve flown it 4 different times now, and noticed the rocking twice on middle seats. It can be annoying, but otherwise it’s a very pleasant ride, but I’d go with the flights operated by the 77W if you can.
