Arguably the hardest ticket to get, is a Masters ticket.
Attending the Masters is a bucket list item for nearly any golf fan. But how do you get tickets? Unless you’ve been lucky enough to get selected by the PGA ticket lottery, or know someone with a great hook up, you’re going to be forking over some serious coin to a ticket broker for those coveted tickets. The bill doesn’t stop there. Augusta isn’t exactly the easiest place to get to. Without a major airport you’ll be flying into Atlanta, Savannah, or potentially Charlotte, maybe even Columbia and then renting a car to drive from any one of those cities to Augusta. Now the big sticker shock, Augusta hotels during the Masters, are a gut punch. The prices, as you can imagine, are insane. We’re talking $500, $600, $1000 a night for 3 star and below hotels. However…I did find an unbelievable deal using points.
Enter: Hyatt Place Augusta. Here’s a look at what it would cost to stay there next week. $81.
During the final weekend of the Masters? $1099 a night.
BUT points are avail…probably the best 12k points per night you could ever spend.
The hotel is a 10-15 minute drive from Augusta National and near a shopping mall, restaurants, etc.
Whether it’s the Masters, Superbowl, or other big event – ALWAYS check your point options before pulling the trigger on a cash purchase.
