It appears that Emirates is doing some upgrades to their system and transfers will be paused for nearly a month. This status popped up in the Bilt app and when I looked at Amex ( another transfer partner ) they also had a notice. Bilt has this noted from May 27th until June 19th, Amex has it from May 28th, and Chase has it until June 30th. The timing of this comes on the heels of Emirates eliminating the ability to redeem points for first class unless you’re an elite member. Odd timing right?
- No transfer between May 27th and June 30th depending on the partner
- Amex, Bilt, Capital One, Citi, and Chase are all partners
Regardless…if you’re looking into booking Emirates via their own program, better act fast, since you won’t be able to transfer into the program during that period. Alternatively, you could always use Aeorplan or Qantas to book ( as well as JAL and sometimes United ).
