According to CNBC , which had the scoop, Carnival has announced that 8 ships will set sail starting August 1st. Two will depart from Port Canaveral ( Orlando ), one from Miami, and 3 from Galveston Texas. All other US and Australian based cruises will keep their anchors dropped until August 31st. The CDC and Miles the Monkey himself aren’t recommending cruises anytime soon…
Here’s a statement from Carnival:
“We are taking a measured approach, focusing our return to service on a select number of homeports where we have more significant operations that are easily accessible by car for the majority of our guests.”
You can see the cruises being offered ( this is non-affiliate )
Honestly, I can’t think of anything worse than setting sail and wondering if there will be an outbreak and ultimately stuck at sea because no port will take you. That seemed to be a headline for most of March…
Would you hop on a cruise yet?
