I write about Amex Offers quite frequently, and while Amex states that these offers, whether they be points or credit, will take up to 90 days to appear on your statement; in reality, they appear much faster. How much faster? For me, at least, and I’d love to hear from all of you, they post within a day or two of meeting the requirement.

Unfamiliar with Amex Offers?

One read our definitive guide to Amex Offers here, but long story short, it’s a quick and easy way to earn tons of points and money each and every year you keep a card.

Here are the 5 American Express Cards that I keep and links to their current offers and why we have them in our wallet and recommend your consideration. We not only get targeted for more Amex Offers, but also receive referral bonuses ( and so can you ) on each and every card. It’s how we earn over 500k points a year without spending a dime.

Here are screenshots of my last two achieved Amex Offers and how quickly they posted.

The first is Farfetch, which was offering 10k bonus points when spending $500 or more. If you’re unfamiliar with Farfetch it’s a great website if you like high end clothing, accessories, etc and love bargains. I was able to snatch some amazing gifts for people at close to 70% off. On top of that…I earned 10k bonus points. Thank you!

The second, you can see if from the ongoing Apple Pay promo, earn 200 points when spending $5 or more, up to 5x. Pretty amazing that the points credited even when the purchase was pending.

If you have data points, would love to see them. Feel free to leave in the comments section.

We keep an up to date spreadsheet that lists the best ever offers: You can find that spreadsheet here.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Supporting Cast:

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® is exceptional starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.

If you carry this card alongside Chase’s cashback cards like the Chase Freedom Flex℠and Chase Freedom Unlimited® or the business versions: Ink Business Cash® , Ink Business Unlimited® you can combine the points into Preferred account and transfer into hotel and airline partners

Annual fee is quite low at $95 a year + you get a 10% anniversary bonus on points + $50 hotel credit in Chase travel.
