There’s a lot of swapping going on in the points and miles world. SLH was once Hyatt, now IHG. Mr and Mrs Smith was once IHG and now is Hyatt. Well, The Venetian and Palazzo have changed dance partners and were once aligned with IHG, but soon will be doing the tango with Hyatt.
Soon, I’d likely bet January 1st, Hyatt points will be able to be earned at the Palazzo and Venetian hotels in Vegas. Later in the year we will be notified of what category these properties will be within World of Hyatt, and what benefits will be honored.
I’ve stayed at the Palazzo a couple of times, and the rooms are massive ( suite is standard ), and have had great styas. It has regularly been a part of Amex FHR and the breakfast buffet is, in typical Vegas fashion, monster. The property recently underwent a renovation and as you can see in the images below, are much more subdued than they once were.
Yes, the base room is 720 sq ft. My guess is that Venetian will be cat 5 and Palazzo will be cat 6.
Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) and The Venetian Resort Las Vegas today announced a long-term licensing agreement to make the iconic luxury property on the Las Vegas Strip bookable through Hyatt channels, including Hyatt.com and the World of Hyatt mobile app, in the near future. Soon, World of Hyatt members and eligible meeting and event planners will be able to earn and redeem loyalty points on qualifying stays, earn credit toward the Brand Explorer Award and, for World of Hyatt elite members, enjoy additional on-property benefits. With this long-term licensing agreement, Hyatt will offer more choice for rewarding travel experiences and stays in the all-suite resort at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip.
