The Grand Hyatt Nashville has quickly turned into one of my favorite Nashville hotels. I’ve stayed a quite a few of them, and I’d say the Grand Hyatt threads the needle on providing an outstanding location with modern rooms, a rooftop bar, pool, and a clutch club level. I’ve visited the hotel twice recently, once in a suite, and another time in a standard room. Both were on points as a Globalist, and I left feeling the same way on both stays…I’m definitely coming back.

Let’s take a look at the Grand Hyatt Nashville Experience

  • Rates usually are in the $200 to $500+ depending on the season
  • Point rates are category 6 so 22k to 27k
  • Globalist get breakfast in the lounge, free parking, and if the hotel isn’t packed a suite upgrade and 4pm check out

The location

You are right off 24 which cuts through Nashville, and one part of the hotel overlooks Broadway. You’re roughly a 10 min walk to the thick of the honkie tonks, and if you cross the bridge in the other direction you’re headed to the Gulch. It’s a great location.

Check In

The hotel is massive, and it almost feels like you’re checking into Casino like property with the high ceilings, multiple valet attendants, live music playing, large open bar adjacent to the front desk, and people draped across the lobby furniture nursing the wounds of the weekend. lol.

a large lobby with a marble floor and a large mirror

The Room

These are pretty standard new Grand Hyatt rooms. I don’t think they’re particularly unique to Nashville aside from some magazines and art on the wall. They feel new, fresh, but cookie cutter. I don’t mind that, but you’re not getting character from a Grand Hyatt.

My first stay was with my dad and we got a two double bed room – as you can see we had a lot of light

The Suite – Broadway Corner Suite

Large, separate living room, and ideal if you’re a few people or you have a suite upgrade and wanting to have a fun weekend. The views from the living room are great, and when I stayed in this suite it was the result of my buddy Dave using a suite upgrade.

King bed and you needed to walk through the bedroom to the bathroom which isn’t great when you’re sharing the room with someone and sleeping in the living room.

The Executive Lounge

This is uncharacteristically located on the lobby level just behind the Hummingbird coffee shop, next to the big open bar.

It’s a decent size, really nicely appointed and handsome lounge with its own built in bar.

a room with a bar and chairs

There are food presentations around breakfast and then again in the evening. Check the hotel to see exact times.

a room with tables and chairs

One thing to note. Your Gloablist breakfast is here, and if you go to the restaurant, you’ll be paying for it on your bill. We made that mistake, and honestly, its not worth paying for it vs the lounge. If the lounge doesn’t suffice, I’d grab breakfast elsewhere vs the hotel restaurant since there so many great brunch spots in Nashville

Dining

As I mentioned, we did have breakfast here and while it was very good, unless you’re specifically craving what’s on the menu..I’d consider all your nearby options.

a room with a large table and chairsThree things I think Nashville does great: Shrimp and grits, Nashville Hot Chicken, and Old Fashioneds. The shrimp and grits were pretty tasty tbh.

Rooftop Bar

This is a very cool spot and one I’d come to even if I wasn’t staying at the hotel.

Fire pits, wrap around terrace, sliding doors, it’s a cool venue. We watched the sunset up here before heading out for the night and sipped a couple of Old Fashioneds.

Great gym, and a rooftop styled pool.

Both times I’ve visited it’s been cold and thus, no one was at the pool

Overall

Definitely will be back, and its great that Globlist get free parking which would otherwise set you back $60 a night and is valet only. Yikes!

Nice review. As a Globalist I stay at the GH Nashville when possible, usually on a Prive rate. Since I normally stay for two nights the welcome amenity (sometimes forgotten but NBD), free dining room breakfast, and $100 food & beverage credit makes staying on cash rates worthwhile. Sure it’s expensive but that’s downtown Nashville and category 6 award prices are a little rough to take unless you’ve got a whole lot of Hyatt points.

I’d love to read a comparison of Nashville Hyatt hotels or even Nashville hotels in general. You did a fabulous job listing your favorite hotels in London recently that caused me to rethink some things and if you can alter people’s thinking you’re certainly doing something right!
