Review: Lufthansa First Class Lounge Frankfurt Terminal A

If you’re just tuning in, welcome! You’re amidst the journey of a lifetime, one taking my family around the world on a surprise trip for my mom’s 75th birthday.  From start to finish she’s had no idea where she was going until she received her boarding pass! In the past few weeks, both of my parents have experienced Cathay First, Singapore Suites, Singapore First, Etihad Apartments and we couldn’t finish this trip just any ole way – I wanted it to finish THE BEST way possible. We had been really blessed with award availability, and managed to lock down 3 First Class seats on Lufthansa from Frankfurt to Dallas.  The Lufthansa First Class experience isn’t complete without visiting a Lufthansa First Class Lounge in Frankfurt. The closest First Class lounge was in Terminal A and I was stoked to visit it with my folks.

The Deets:

  • When: April 2017
  • Where: Frankfurt, Germany Terminal A
  • Access: Lufthansa First Class ticket FRA to DFW

You better not have a cold, because you’ll wanna fill your lungs with a deep breath of German Lux.

We’ve been to some of the world’s best lounges on this trip. There really isn’t anything quite like a Lufthansa First Class lounge. This one is quite a bit smaller than the one I visited last year in Terminal 1, but the class and elegance are just as stunning.

Miles and Johnnie Blue hugged it out.

You’ll pass the bar on the left. If you stripped this bar out of an airport lounge and put it in a head to head challenge with almost any bar in the world – it would hold up.  What makes it even better? It’s all free – even bottles like JB which normally retail for nearly $200

Still on the Clock?

They got you.

Lufthansa has got the nuts

For those of you who play poker you know that means you have the best hand possible.  Lufthansa’s lounges are just that good.

They also make nuts look sexy…which let’s be honest – that ain’t easy.

Mood: Hungry.

Solution: Private Restaurant

Menu…yes, please. Buffet? Why not?

Yep, not only is there a marble shower, but a Jacuzzi.

Stogies? Why not?!

Overall

The staff was unbelievably nice to us. I think it’s Miles. He employs a wicked charm offensive that not many can resist. He had them giving us tours, pulling down different bottles of booze, reaching out to the social media manager…and most of all – wishing my mom a happy birthday. This was a great way to end the ground portion of the trip, and we still had an outstanding flight to look forward to on one of the best First Classes in the sky.

Sorry, but you – and especially your Mom – really missed out on the best part: the Lufthansa First Class Terminal. How could you NOT go there???

    • Miles July 15, 2017

Alex – ugh, would have loved to, but the way that the flights opened up we just didn’t have time.

When were you able to book those 3 LH tickets? And what was your backup plan in case they weren’t available?

    • Miles July 14, 2017

Hey Patrick – My preference is to use Singapore Krisflyer, while it’s 80k vs Aeroplan’s 70k from Europe to US for Lufthansa First Class it allows changes for just $25. The space opened up less than 2 weeks to flying so we were already on the trip, but I felt confident that some route would open up to get us back stateside – at least for my folks. As a backup I’d found 2 Austrian Biz tickets NCE-VIE-LAX for them and reserved them several months in advance, but transferred enough points into SQ so that I could switch into LH First when the space opened.
