A step in the right direction
In addition to award nights counting towards status, the free night awards that are given after hitting 30 and 60 nights will be valid for 180 days. While I think these are steps in the right direction, the World of Hyatt rebranding is still a tough pill to swallow. 60 nights to hit globalist status in a chain with a footprint that is roughly 1/10 the size of Marriott is quite the fete. Certainly allowing award nights to count towards elite status will help, but 60 nights in a brand that has less than 600 hotels is a lot to ask. I’m anticipating that this is just the first step that World of Hyatt is going to make for 2018 in its effort to lure back loyalists that jumped ship in 2017.
I’m not sure if it matters, but a fete is a party, rather than the feat which is what you seemed to be going for. That said, I agree. I did a MR early this year to secure Diamond status, and will continue to use it as a Globalist this coming year, but pulling 60 nights is pretty much just not gonna happen. I’m considering maybe, just maybe, doing another MR at the very beginning of 2019 to secure status for 2019/20, but it’s still going to be expensive. What Hyatt needs to do as the next step is allow multiple rooms, GOH, and credit card spending to count toward status.
