The deal below is limited to the first 2000 purchases.

Alaska just finished a promotion that targeted members with up to 50% bonuses that dropped the price just below $0.02. The catch? You had to buy 40,000 to hit the maximum bonus, even if you were targeted, which required dropping a hefty amount of cash. This offer, however, allows you to buy miles for just over $300. If your account is targeted for the 30% discount, you’ll only need to buy 15,000 miles to get the bonus. There doesn’t seem to be a limit on how many 15k packages you can buy either.

The catch? The offer is only good for the first 2,000 purchases. This presents a rather cost effective way to shore up your Alaska balance. Offer ends October 23rd, or when they hit 2000 purchases. As always, I never advocate buying miles speculatively, but if you have a good use – this is a solid deal.

A minor glitch a couple days ago…

There was a slight false alarm that indicated that the deal had perhaps expired when I heard reports that the miles were no longer pricing with a discount. That seems to have just been a glitch, as I just tried my account again and it’s working fine.

Here’s how my order priced out. $310.41 for 15k points. $0.0207 per point.

We keep an up to date spreadsheet that lists the best ever offers: You can find that spreadsheet here.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Supporting Cast:

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® is exceptional starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.

$443.44 for me for 15k miles regardless of incognito or browser. I’m glad this offer is alive for you, but it’s a bit maddening that I can’t get there no matter what.
