Marriott currently has a promotion running that offers “Super Off Peak” rates at many resorts around the world. If you’re unfamiliar with the Marriott Bonvoy program, it’s a demand driven program that is broken into 3 levels: Off Peak, Standard, and Peak. How busy the hotel is determines where the hotel prices – it’s not tied to any seasons of the year. Resorts like the St Regis Maldives are usually in at least standard if not Peak on dates outside of the wet season. May is technically the first month of that wet season, but I was still surprised to see many 5 night stays under 300k for 5 nights. There are a handful at 252k for 5 nights. Needless to say this has piqued my interest. I haven’t flown in nearly a year, but that would be a great trip to break the seal on lol.
The craziest thing is the price on the 2 Bedroom Beachfront Villa…what?!
*Note that there is a transfer fee of $745 per person and taxes on any upgrade charge.
The entry level villa at St Regis Maldives
Yes, the entry level room is drop dead gorgeous, 1600 sq ft, and has a private pool.

The Super Off Peak rates:
Terms and conditions:
-
Marriott Bonvoy™ Members must book between January 11, 2021 – February 21, 2021 at Participating Properties with Off-Peak redemption rates available for stay dates through September 30, 2021. Redemption stays at Homes & Villas by Marriott International are not eligible for Off-Peak redemption rates. All Marriott Bonvoy™ Terms and Conditions apply. See www.marriott.com/loyalty/terms/default.mi for more information.
The St Regis Maldives is a Category 8 hotel that would normally cost 70k a night in Off Peak, and all Marriott Bonvoy members get a 5th night free.
As you can see some dates are pricing with 5 consecutive nights at Super Off Peak. This reduces the average rate to just barely over 50k points a night. That is unreal for this level of hotel.
You can see the hierarchy of rooms
The cash upgrade prices to bump from Garden Villa to Sunset Overater and Beachfront villa are less than $50 a night.
Here’s the crazy thing… 2 couples could go and stay for $1000 and 252k Marriott Bonvoy points for the room portion.
5 nights for $1000 total and 252k points. Breaking down…This absolutely massive 2 bedroom Beachfront villa is $200+ 50,400 points a night. That.Is.Nuts.
This doesn’t include the transfer or tax on the $1000 – the transfer alone is $745 per person, but every resort in the Maldives has high transfer fees which include a seaplane to the St Regis from Male.

Look at this thing…
A look at other dates in May are pricing with this cash upgrade as well…
I know the world is shut down…but that is an incredible deal + the Maldives is open
You can go here to read about restrictions. But here is a quick overview of you’d need to go to the Maldives, and the PCR test you’d receive prior to departure.
- Need a negative PCR test result taken no more than 96 hours prior to departure
- You may also get randomly tested upon arrival
- On site PCR Test costing $165 + 23.2% service charge per guest
- Must reserve 72 hours prior to departure
There is a whopping $3332 in taxes and local fees for that 2 bedroom villa!
Michael – I’ve updated the post but the $1000 + 252k is room only. Every person has to pay a $745 transfer fee whether you use points or not which includes a seaplane transfer and I believe they assess taxes on the $1000 as well. Every room has to pay these fees, but I totally forgot to add that and have since updated.
LOOKS LIKE THEY PULLED IT AS OF RIGHT NOW?
was still there when I checked
So what happens if you fail the copied test 72 hours before?
Covid not copies, damn auto correct.
great question and I don’t really know…
