Trump Hotels announces new lifestyle brand Scion
At the end of September Trump Hotels made an announcement that a new brand would be rolled out…one without the Trump name. This would be a huge departure for the hotel brand that has prided itself since 2007 on the Trump name. The hotels will be aimed at millennials and will be a “lifestyle” themed brand developed ” in response to the boom in social clubs and the ‘we’ economy.” Below is the official release: “Trump Hotels names new lifestyle brand scion.”
Trump made his new Washington D.C. hotel a focal point of the campaign on more than one occasion. However, statistics from Hipmunk have suggested that rates have been significantly lower than market value and foot traffic across the hotel brand has been down since the patriarch, Donald, announced his presidential bid. One has to wonder, in such a highly contested, volatile, and divided campaign if the Trump brand hasn’t faced some negative effects as a result. Only time will tell, but it seems like the Trump Hotels brand is hedging their future with the new, non Trump named, lifestyle brand Scion.
