In early August, IHG announced that it would be adding roughly a dozen hotels to its UK footprint. At the time of the announcement it was unclear when these hotels would be bookable via IHG to earn and burn points. I was looking at some potential options for a trip I’m putting together around New Years and stumbled upon a development. It looks as though each hotel may have a different timeline, but the Kimpton Fitzroy London ( formerly The Principal London ) will be folded in October 24th.
Kimpton Fitzroy London is HIGH on my list of properties to check out, and I’m anxious to see what it’ll be pricing out point wise.
Both properties in Edinburgh will be available in November
Here’s a list of all the hotels which will be folded into IHG
The Principal London
The Principal Edinburgh Charlotte Square
The Principal Edinburgh George Street
The Principal Met Hotel (Leeds)
The Principal York
De Vere Oxford Thames
The Grand Birmingham (pipeline)
The Principal Manchester
The Principal Blythswood Square (Glasgow)
The Principal Grand Central (Glasgow)
The Principal St David’s (Cardiff)
The Principal Oxford Spires
De Vere Wotton House
If you’re short on points you can buy them with a 100% bonus until October 31st! I’d also recommend reading how you can max them out in this post.
