Delta Status Match +1 for Amex Cardholders

This is just to confirm that roughly two weeks after I completed the following, my Delta account was matched to Diamond.

Original post from March 1st, 2022:

I just received an incredible Status Match offer with Delta via American Express. It’s targeted, so keep an eye out for your junk mail, or even try the link provided, but the offer gives Delta status within 14 days that is commensurate to your matched airlines statuts + 1 level. I currently don’t have any status with Delta, but I do have Platinum Pro with American Airlines so I should match to Delta Diamond.

Eligibility:

1. Determine if you are eligible
You are eligible to participate in our Status Match Offer if you meet all of the following criteria:

  • You received this offer directly from American Express by e-mail.
  • You currently have elite status with a qualifying airline, that was earned through that airline’s published requirements (complimentary status or status earned through a promotion does not qualify).
    • These airlines are:
      • Alaska
      • American
      • United
      • JetBlue
      • SouthWest
  • You are able to present both 1) a valid, non-expired elite physical or digital membership card or credential with your name and expiration date on it and 2) a statement showing your earned elite status with an airline and the corresponding activity with that airline that enabled the status tier, with your name on it. For both materials, you may upload a photograph, screenshot of your app or computer screen, or other file format as long as it clearly shows the required information, your elite status level, valid expiration date, and your name.

2. Submit your request
Once you receive your confirmation your status will be valid through August 31, 2022.

3. Enjoy Medallion Status
Complimentary Status until August 31, 2022.

Here’s the chart…

If you want to keep status through 1/31/23 – you’ll have to hit these thresholds:

No spend requirement which is pretty awesome and if you fall short…for instance I need to hit 50k MQMs by 8/31/22, but if I don’t, I can still retain Platinum if I hit 28k MQMs

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Apply for an American Express Card with this link. We can both get rewarded if you’re approved! http://refer.amex.us/CHRISJ2B2M?xl=cpu7

I applied and was told the documentation was insufficient but told to reapply. What they’re asking for is a bit hard to obtain as AA doesn’t supply “statements showing how your status was earned.”

    We’ll see what happens.

  • Ed March 17, 2022

My wife was initially rejected due to insufficient documentation (from AAdvantage), but was allowed to resubmit and was approved on monday. We applied the first day this was available.

    • Thomas March 21, 2022

hi Ed- i had the same issue as you, and was looking for what to upload (besides the photo of the physical card) since AAdvantage doesn’t issue exactly what they are asking for. If you can let me know what you sent would be very helpful. Thanks in advance, Thomas

Been over a week, anyone approved for this yet? Haven’t heard anything since I submitted the form as soon as it came out.

  • Christian March 1, 2022

It’ll be interesting to see if Delta counts AA points earned through credit card spend.

    I think it’s just you…. perks of being a blogger….

    • Miles March 1, 2022

Nah it’s random, some have gotten as well, some haven’t and I’d guess more will get targeted
