If you’re unfamiliar with Logan Paul, he’s a 22 year old, former Vine star that set the record for the fastest ascension to 10 Million subscribers on YouTube this year. Insane. He set out to Dubai this week to set another world record: the largest Meet and Greet. The setting? The Dubai Mall. He resides in LA and in order to get there he flew Emirates First Class. Not sure if Emirates was made aware of his in flight intentions, but he turned the LARGE first class bathroom into a Pop Up merchandise shop for his clothing brand, Maverick. Check out the video below – the conversion starts around the 10 minute mark.

What is your take on this? It seems like the standard BoardingArea bloggers are offering their commentary. The comments on OMAAT are ripping this guy a new one. Certainly they aren’t his target audience though. Is this trashy, inappropriate, fun?

    • Miles November 15, 2017

Andre – my honest first reaction when I saw it? Marketing genius. Logan is doing his thing, and regardless of his style, he’s a major disruptor in entertainment. The guy had 450 Million views on his channel in October, and if you’ve watched any of his other videos while in Dubai ( as their guest), he’s basically making a huge marketing video that his fanbase will urge their family to go there. If this became a thing where people were going in the cabin to do this…yeah it’s a problem. But, I’d guess he coordinated the stunt with the airline ( you’re only allowed a set amount of time in the shower bathroom to begin with ), and it’s putting a whole new set of eyes on Emirates and helping is brand out too. I thought it was fun.

I appreciate the take Miles. I’ve seen many of Logan’s vines before he moved to strictly YouTube based, and this is really par for the course. I’ve always found him funny. He appeals to a different crowd, seemingly, than those who read these travel blogs. I also didn’t really have a problem with it, but I think I’m in one of the generations he targets with his videos.

this guy is hated because he has made a name for himself, he was not only invited to Dubai, he was doing business with entrepreneurs, to invest in his company Maverick Entreprice, in fact it is said that he already has agreements with NIKE to make shoes with his maverick brand, he is a Marketing genius, he is not a youtuber, he is an entrepreneur who uses his platform – channel to expand his business.

          • Miles November 15, 2017

Javier – exactly. Haters gonna hate
