New YouTube every Tuesday at 2pm EST

It’s Tuesday, and that means we’re publishing a new YouTube video. Every Tuesday at 2pm we’re either teaching you a tip, trick, or tactic, reviewing a hotel or flight, or answering your questions. Today, we’ve put together a quick guide illustrating 3 simple ways you could be earning a ton more Membership Rewards without having to open a new credit card or spend more money. We appreciate you subscribing to our content, liking, and commenting.

One main way that we highlight is utilizing Rakuten.

The ability to earn Membership Rewards off purchases made through this portal is amazing. Often times, you’ll see huge cashback offers promoted which effectively equates to huge Amex multiples on every dollar you spend. If you’re unfamiliar with earning Amex points on Rakuten purchases, read this article that breaks down how to select that option.

If you don’t have a Rakuten account, you can use our Referral link which will earn your $10, or 1000k Membership Rewards when you sign up

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Supporting Cast:

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® is exceptional starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.

If you carry this card alongside Chase’s cashback cards like the Chase Freedom Flex℠and Chase Freedom Unlimited® or the business versions: Ink Business Cash® , Ink Business Unlimited® you can combine the points into Preferred account and transfer into hotel and airline partners

Annual fee is quite low at $95 a year + you get a 10% anniversary bonus on points + $50 hotel credit in Chase travel.

I understand you promoting your YouTube, but article name is misleading to readers. Have to name it correctly.

  • Christine January 28, 2020

I must have missed something. The title says “3 ways…” yet the article only lists 1.

    • Miles January 28, 2020

Christine – The 3 ways are highlighted in the YouTube video – one in particular that we featured on the site is Rakuten
