I’m a travel nut, and even though I read a ton of travel news, finding award space and deals takes a lot of time. These Travel Newsletters specialize in award space, airline, and hotel deals. Simply put: they do the work for you, or at the very least, give their readers a wonderful idea of what’s available should you be in the market.  I’m subscribed to them all.

Straighttothepoints.co

You’ve probably read Spencer Howard’s work across various blogs, and if you have, then you already know how in depth his posts, reviews, and program breakdowns can be. The guy knows his stuff. But… Spencer writes a wonderful newsletter that alerts his loyal subscribers to business and first class award seats around the globe.

The only thing I think Spencer could do differently is charge an annual fee…it’s that good. Get in while it’s free

Luxury Flight Club

Looking for sick deals on luxury flights around the world? Then, you need to subscribe to the Luxury Flight Club. You can choose to between flights originating out of Europe or the US, and I get emails most every single day.

The email service is free, and LFC includes links to Google Flights with search ( which are unaffiliated ) or affiliate links to help support the newsletter. It’s a great service.

Extreme Hotel Deals

This newsletter/ subscription service will alert you to insane hotel deals around the world. I have no idea how they do it, but they somehow find deals and mistake rates at some of the finest properties around. If you don’t go premium, I’d still check the website and follow on twitter – great deals abound.

For premium, it’ll run you $79/year

Premium-Flights

In a similar vein to the Luxury Travel Club, Premium Flights find some outstanding deals around the globe in first and business class. I first started seeing them pop up on the premium-fares thread on Flyertalk and they’ve consistently produced some stellar deals.

If you sign up for alerts from them and LTC, you’ll be covering a lot of bases with minimal effort.

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Supporting Cast:

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® is exceptional starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.
