American Express announced that they will fold in $20 per month in wireless and streaming statement credits on the Platinum card between now and the end of the year. They also will give $20 per month wireless credits on the Amex Biz Plat and $10 on Amex Green.

I took immediate advantage of this after I took a retention offer and decided to keep my Amex Platinum another year. I’ve also received a pre-fee retention offer on my Amex Biz Plat, but haven’t pulled the trigger. Nonetheless, I have decided to throw $50, spread across 3 cards. In typical Amex fashion, the charges were quick to credit much like receiving bonus points on Amex Offers. The credits for both wireless and streaming are quick to credit. Let’s take a look:

Wireless credits post within two days

As you can see below, on both my Amex Platinum and Business Platinum…the credits posted very quickly. The credits posted within 2 days on the Amex Green as well, but it split across statements so wasn’t easy to screen cap.

I already had a Hulu membership that had billed, so I added on services: no ads for Disney+ and ESPN+ and I threw in Starz at a discounted rate. I had no idea how much content was on ESPN+ including Peyton’s Places with Peyton Manning, the best quarterback that ever lived 😉 Sorry, Shane…

This bundle cost was $18.99 a month for the 3 streaming + $4.99 for Starz

Since I had already paid this month’s bill with another credit card, the balance was paid on my Amex Platinum. It was refunded 3 days later

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® is exceptional starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.
