Buy Aeroplan miles with massive bonus
If you’re unfamiliar with buying points or even Aeroplan – let me just quickly run through it. Often times, airlines and hotels will straight up sell their points with a bonus or a discount. If you have a flight or hotel stay you’re planning, and you’re either short or completely without points, you can buy the points you need to shore up your account. Heck, you could even buy the points for the flight or hotel night cheaper than you could with cash. Only buy points when you know you have a reason to use them and it makes financial sense.
Aeroplan is selling their miles for as low as $0.01715 USD assuming an exchange rate of 1 CAD = $0.70 USD. This is a decent deal, but we’ve seen much lower in the past.
Why am I stressing you have a reason to use them?
Airlines and hotels devalue their programs all the time. Aeroplan recently updated their program, and historically they’ve been quite customer friendly with notifying us with changes… But, you never know.
Aeroplan is also a transfer partner of American Express, Capital One, Chase, and Bilt. For the record you can also convert Marriott Bonvoy points into Aeroplan.

This is not really a great deal since we’ve seen it as low as 1.13 cents. This is 1.715 cents per point USD
The bonus structure is tiered
As you can see below…there are minimums for each bonus tier. If you maxed the offer out, you’d be sitting on 1,1250,000 if you took advantage of the 125% bonus.
- Buy up to 19k get 15% discount
- Buy up to 75k get 20% discount
- Buy up to 95k get 25% discount
- Over 100k get 30% discount
Is this the best price we’ve ever seen?
125% bonus is a screaming good deal, but even the 100% is historically a great deal as well.

- 2021 – 1.2c = 700k for 10,500 CAD

Where I would use Aeroplan Miles
You can fly from the US to Europe for 70k miles. If you want to bake in a stopover…5k miles will do the trick. So, you could fly Swiss biz to Athens from LA, stop in Zurich for a few days, and then pop down for a total of 75k miles. That’s a really good deal.
US to South Africa for 85k each way.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.
