Club Carlson Status Match

Utilizing a status match is a glorious thin, and Miles is an absolute status fiend.  I’m going to be heading back to Stockholm in a couple months and while I really did enjoy the Hilton Stockholm, and would highly recommend it, I’m looking to stay elsewhere. The featured image is of the Radisson Blu Strand – looks amazing. Not sure I”ll stay there or if I’ll just crash at the airport and utilize the high speed transit in the city. Either way, I’m thinking of staying at a Radisson Blu. Truth be told, I have very little experience with the brand ( my only other stay was in London last year), and I’m an advocate of using positioning flights to get into Europe and get big discounts on business class. This means I’m not always able to find a great deal on the large American brands ( especially in the Nordic region ) and it seems like Club Carlson has a strong presence in the region. I thought it worth my while to use my Hilton Diamond status request a Club Carlson Status Match.

I always use statusmatcher.com to see how you may fare.

Here was my email…I also attached a screen shot of Hilton Diamond Status.

I ended up getting matched to Club Carlson Gold

I was really hoping they would match me to their top tier, Concierge – even though that would have been a massive stroke of luck. Gold doesn’t provide mega benefits, but maybe it’ll get me a decent upgrade upon arrival.  It’s also a status level that is a perk of the US Bank Club Carlson Premier or Business Reward credit card so not really that difficult to attain without a match.

I keep both personal and business Club Carlson cards. As you mentioned, they both give gold status, which actually has very few valuable guaranteed benefits, like free breakfast, suite upgrades, etc. Gold status has gotten me a room upgrade in Budapest a couple of times, and free breakfast once, but I really keep the cards for the annual points. The status is a nice plus, though.

That 40k is enticing – thanks for the info Christian.

Although not a published benefit, Gold got me free welcome drinks at the bar and room service breakfast at the radisson in Kissimmee, near disneyworld. We ordered steak and eggs every morning.
