Meet the Millers.

A Father and Daughter were booted off a Frontier Airlines flight for allegedly discussing, to themselves, that a flight attendant looked miserable.  This was after an 8 hour delay, and according to them, they were saying that even the crew looked miserable. The flight attendant told her superior, who then requested that the family leave the plane because the flight attendant felt threatened. If they didn’t…the cops would be called. This is almost becoming a badge of honor, I mean, even our very own BoardingArea blogger Matthew Klint has had his experience getting booted for merely taking pictures on a United flight. Miles don’t get any ideas, ok buddy? 🙂

Little nobodies invested with a little power and low self esteem exist the world over. A number of years ago I went through airport security in Zurich, Switzerland. I was asked if I had any liquids in my carry on to which I responded no. I in fact had a sealed small can of sardines which I had brought with me on my flight from London earlier in the day [same carry on]. When the can showed up on the xray screen a supervisor was called. I was asked why I had not declared the can, with the implication that I had deliberately tried to smuggle it through. I explained that I had bought the can in London earlier in the day, taken it without incident through security at LCY and even produced the store receipt. I did not realize it was classified as “liquids”. Nothing doing. I was asked the same question again, why didn’t I declare the can. I asked the “supervisor” his name, then all hell broke loose. A policeman was summoned to make sure I did not make a break for it. I was asked for my passport which was taken away to a room the the information to be “noted”. The hero supervisor returned 30 minutes later, handed me my passport and told me he was not sure if the flight was still open. The flight was delayed and I made it. I was sorely tempted to report the whole incident but decided discretion was the better part of valor as I didn’t want to risk being denied entry next time I flew into Switzerland. Give these little nobodies an inch and they will take a mile. Being a checkin agent, a security screener or an on board waiter are not really challenging or exciting jobs but holding someone until you can tease him into thinking he may miss his flight or playing macho and getting him removed from a flight when he is seated and ready to go, now that really makes a dull day exciting. Little nobodies invested with a little power and low self esteem ………………………..

    Only in America guys….

Congress really needs to step in and put a stop to this nonsense. Flight attendants threatening police action in cases such as these should be arrested and charged with falsely reporting a crime.
